RAPID Protocol

User Experience

Underpinning the Application Delivery Network service, Asankya has developed revolutionary algorithms to combat the inherent transport inefficiencies of the Internet. Termed RAPID, Asankya’s protocol enables multiple network resources to be leveraged simultaneously to create faster and more consistent application throughput. The type of resources that can be harnessed by Parallel Networking can include physical circuits, overlay network paths, private networks, backup networks, virtual connections, and even distributed caches.

A key property of RAPID is the decision process for which a particular resource is used at any point in time. This decision is taken on a per-packet (not flow) basis, allowing for the finest granularity possible. One of the fundamental challenges when using multiple heterogeneous resources to process a single session is out-of-order packet delivery. RAPID addresses this issue by using continuous monitoring to characterize the available resources, and intelligently scheduling packets onto the different resources to provide in-order delivery. Asankya’s RAPID protocol resides below all transport layer protocols optimizing TCP, UDP and IPSec traffic.
