Network Engineer

The Network Engineer occupies a key role building the RapidNet network, Asankya’s revolutionary transport optimization service. The Network Engineer will contribute to the planning, implementation and maintenance of Asankya’s core network infrastructure. Additionally the Network Engineer will provide assistance in pre- and post-sales activities including: on-site demonstrations, demo set-up and support, assisting customers with deployment of Asankya products as well as product issue resolution.
Responsibilities Include
- Remote and on-site configuration of network hardware and software.
- Lead customer installation of Asankya equipment.
- Answer customer questions regarding technical issues or implementation methodology in pre- and post-sale situations.
- Develop effective customer solutions that overcome potential implementation problems.
- Assist with the clarification and documentation of specific customer requirements and build into the proposals/quotes.
- Lead documentation efforts for customer configuration guides and manual.
- Deploy and manage network management services including the NOC, customer ticketing system and other services
- Help develop tools to assist the sales organization communicate the benefits of Asankya products, including product demonstrations, technical documentation and comparisons to competitive offerings.
Knowledge/Skills
- 3+ years experience in network design, implementation, and support.
- 1-3 years experience technical client facing position: technical support, pre-sales engineering, or consulting.
- Strong experience with system/network administration: Network topology set-up, emulation, and testing, WAN topology, Router/network-equipment configuration .
- Strong communication, individual leadership, and project management skills.
- Solid planning and organization, detail, and follow-up skills.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl or Ruby is essential.
- Windows XP, Linux platform experience required.
Desired
- MCSE, CNE, CCDA, CCNA, CDIA, or CCNP certifications.
- Active or recent Federal government security clearance.
Education
- BS, preferably in CS or EE (MS a plus)
